INVITATION: Dance/Movement Workshop for ESJC participants
all bodies and identities welcome
intention: accessible and inspiring for all, regardless of previous experience/relationship with dance
Dear ESJC community,
In response to requests and interest I’ve received from some of you, I’m offering a dance/movement workshop for my final project. The group of this group project is the community of whoever attends – co-creating by participating in whatever ways support you and your process, as we labor and play individually and collectively with/through/towards embodied social justice.
This workshop is designed specifically for you and us all – as a chance for further integration, embodiment, practice, and evolution of what came up for you/us individually and collectively during the program.
As it is for many of you, several of the principles and practices shared during the program align and resonate with principles and practices I use in my work/art/life. I’m called to share some explorations in embodied mindful movement that are accessible for all – whether you are still encountering what “dance” may mean for you, and/or if you connect deeply with all that may mean for you and have a longstanding practice.
These explorations meet you where you are and invite you to engage with and be curious about:
– center point, center line, space within-around-between
– elements of the human body and elements of all nature
– integration and expansion, interweavings of center/s and margins
– connection with lineage: reclaiming, navigating, evolving
– navigating, adapting, moving with embodied agency and capacity and presence
– remembering and discovering new perspectives, possibilities, resources, relationships
If this sounds interesting for you, whether or not it makes any sense – you are WELCOME. Through movement, you’re invited to take, leave, metabolize, cultivate whatever speaks to you of the above – all as inspiration for y/our interrelated and emergent processes of individual and collective liberation.
I am so grateful to have a chance to give back to you all: to this gathering of exceptional, courageous, inspiring humans – with dedication to the continued evolution of what we’ve each and all experienced during the program – in service of building a culture of embodied and enacted liberation.
I look forward to moving with you!
